James Connolly Society
Appeal for Support for James Connolly Movie
1996 marked the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Irish Socialist Republican Party of James Connolly. To commemorate this, an ad hoc committee was formed to found a James Connolly Society in both Canada and the United States.
The Connolly Society, modelled on the successful John MacLean Society of Scotland, is a non-sectarian, non-partisan, and not for profit organization devoted to building awareness of, and interest in, the life and works of Ireland's greatest socialist, James Connolly.
The Connolly Society is open to all individuals interested in working to publish and distribute Connolly's writings throughout North America, as well as to promote a greater understanding of Connolly's unique contributions to international socialism, both in his life and works.
This website has, from its inception, been a project of the Irish Republican Socialist Movement, with the bulk of the work being done by individual members of the movement.
The project's goals remain non-partisan: an effort to bring the works of James Connolly to the widest audience possible.
